FAQ

Everything you need to know about the PDF to Images.

What DPI should I use?

72 DPI for screen, 150 DPI for general use, 300 DPI for print-quality output.

Is my file uploaded?

No. PDF.js renders pages locally in your browser.

What is the file size limit?

Process files up to the browser memory limit.

Can I convert only specific pages?

Yes — enter the pages you want to convert.

Are vector graphics preserved?

Vector graphics are rasterised at your chosen DPI — they are not kept as vectors.

Why is 600 DPI conversion slow?

At 600 DPI, each A4 page produces a ~5000×7000 pixel image (35 megapixels). This requires significant CPU and memory. For most use cases, 150 or 300 DPI provides excellent quality. Keep the browser tab active during processing — backgrounded tabs may be throttled.

Is Refinata better than iLovePDF for PDF to image conversion?

Refinata offers four advantages: (1) Your PDF never leaves your device. (2) WebP format support (iLovePDF doesn't offer it). (3) Four DPI presets including 600 DPI ultra (iLovePDF has limited options). (4) Image preview before download. The rendering quality is comparable since both use PDF specification-level rendering engines.
